Chief Executive Officer (CEO)

President
The President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) is responsible for playing a significant role in all aspects of the team, with emphasis on the construction of the robot, and is an active member of the community partnerships department. The President is responsible for not only creating agendas for meetings, with the input of the adult advisors and mentors, but also to facilitate the meetings alongside fellow team officers. The President conducts weekly meetings with the team officers and, additionally, serves as the team representative at Team San Diego meetings. While maintaining and demonstrating responsible behavior at all team activities, the President is also responsible for ensuring that team members are safe, involved, and having fun.

Chief Operating Officer (COO)

Vice PresidentPublic Relations
The Public Relations Vice President and Chief Executive Officer (COO) is responsible for playing a significant role in all aspects of the team, ranging from financial development to communications, and is an active member of the community partnerships department. The PR Vice President is responsible for overseeing the facilitation of all team activities and then reporting back to the President. In addition to helping create agendas for meetings, facilitating weekly meetings with fellow team officers, and serving as the team representative at Team San Diego meetings, the PR Vice President serves as the one of the primary executive officer when the President is not present. While maintaining and demonstrating responsible behavior at all team activities, the PR Vice President is also responsible for ensuring that team members are safe, involved, and having fun.

Chief Operating Officer (COO)
Vice President: Technical 
The Technical Vice President and Chief Executive Officer (COO) is the overseer of all things robot related. The Technical Vice President appoints leads for different aspects of the robot, including drive train, pneumatics, programming, and electrical. The Technical Vice President is also responsible for overseeing the facilitation of all team activities and then reporting back to the President. Working with the Public Relations Vice President, the Technical Vice President serves as one of the primary executive officers when the President is not present.

Financial Development and Accountant

Officer
The Financial Development Officer is in charge of the Financial Development Department. The Financial Development Officer is responsible for the acquisition and solicitation of funds (approximately $20,000 a year) in order to cover the costs of participating in FIRST (registration, robot construction, travel/lodging, marketing, and event planning) through student fundraisers. In addition to sending donation letters and scheduling presentations with individual donors, corporations, universities, and small businesses, the Financial Development Officer is also responsible for following up with potential donors and sending thank you letters and updates. The Financial Development Officer is in charge of keeping records of team income and expenses via Microsoft Excel. The Financial Officer/Accountant is responsible for working with the community partnerships and communications and marketing officer to track individual expenses and report that information back to the financial development officer.

Community Partnerships

Officer
The Community Partnerships Officer is in charge of the Community Outreach Department. The Community Partnerships Officer is responsible for the organization and facilitation of student-led initiatives which strives to spread the message of FIRST to youth throughout the greater San Diego County, such as BUDDY, STEPS, and the UC Initiative. The Community Partnerships Officer is responsible for building and maintaining relationships with congressional representatives, community organizations, corporations/small businesses, universities, and local schools (through sending letters, scheduling presentations, and organizing community events) in order to facilitate the integration of FIRST. The Community Partnerships Officer updates the team on community activities on a bimonthly basis and is also responsible for leading the team in the development of the materials for the Chairman’s Award.
 
AMANDA SAY
Media
Officer
The Communications and Marketing Officer is in charge of the Communications and Marketing Department. The Communications and Marketing Officer is responsible for ensuring that the team’s image is visible in the community by leading the publication of monthly newsletters and marketing materials as requested by the financial development or community partnerships department. The Communications and Marketing Officer is responsible for not only taking pictures and recording video of all team events, but also maintaining the organization of all media files on the team’s database. The Communications and Marketing Officer serves as the main contact and liaison between the team and local media (television, print, radio, online) through maintaining relationships with the media and sending regular updates and press releases on behalf of the team and Team San Diego. In addition to submitting articles and photographs to the Preuss Insider and Yearbook Staff, the Communications and Marketing Officer is also responsible for maintaining the team website and developing the team image.

Officer
The Historian is responsible for recording meetings each day and submitting it into the archive as well as keeping an updated list of all the members. The Historian also takes pictures and documents the building of the robot, outreach events, and competitions.
